Rules for kids.

We are really having to think deliberately about rules.  Here are some of our basic rules in no particular order:
  • If you ask whether your friend can eat over and they standing in hearing distance, the answer will always be no.
  • No riding in cars with teenagers- this is hard and we loosened it somewhat for rides to church, etc, but we are going back to it again.
  • Look at people when they talk to you.
  • Speak kindly to others.
  • Do all things as unto the Lord and not as unto men.
  •  If you like the food you may say so.  If you don't like it don't say so unless somebody specifically asks for your opinion.
  • You cannot go outside by yourself (that's for the 3 yo who tries to follow everyone out the door).
  • Put your dishes in the dishwasher after eating.
  • Help others.
  • Do what I say and not what I do.  Just kidding, kind of.

Fell asleep with his knight and horse.

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday.  I've hidden a basket of candy for each child to find when they wake up.  Then breakfast at church which I think is free!  After lunch we'll have an Easter egg hunt for yet more candy.  We'll have an Easter dinner with ham, etc.

Tomorrow celebrate Christ and His willingness to die on the cross (and shed His blood for us) to pay the price for our sins so that we can live with Him forever!  He wants us ALL to accept His invitation to be our Lord and Savior.  I expect that many who read this are celebrating that this Easter too.

Would you pray for my young aunt who has cancer and just a short time left on Earth, that she would know Jesus as her savior?  Thank you.

To receive Christ as your Savior, BELIEVING pray, "Heavenly Father, I am sorry for my sin, I repent! Have mercy on me! I do today receive Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour from sin and its penalty. I believe He died for me and was buried and rose again and trust today in His sacrifice and shed blood for the forgiveness of my sins. Please give to me the free gift of eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Happy Easter!

  2. Fun! Since my kids are still so little, I enjoyed seeing some rules that we'll want to consider when they are older, like riding in cars with teenagers, making eye contact, and not saying you don't like a food. (That food one is brilliant! :)

Found you through Top 10 Tuesdays, btw!

  3. Hi Erica,
Wow, someone said something of mine was brilliant! How cool is that?! That's when I know there IS a God! It must have come from Him!

Yes, I think a great thing to do is to find a family, who you like and want to be around, with kids who are a little older than yours and pick their brains about what to expect during your childrens' next/future stages...like no riding in cars with teens!
